Trader Joe's Confirms No Apeel on their Produce
I’ve been trying to find out where I can buy organic produce that is not treated with Apeel, or similar products. I’ve seen some posts about various grocery stores declaring that they won’t use the coating, but have been unable to find any statements to this effect on their websites, or to confirm in any other way.
Until now.
I wrote to Trader Joe’s asking “Can you tell me whether Trader Joe''s sells any produce that has Apeel or any similar artificial coating on it, and if so, which products?”
Just now, I received a response, from their customer relations division:
“Hello Bretigne,
”Thanks for the inquiry. Edipeel, Invisipeel, and Organipeel are all Apeel Products per the EPA.
”We can confirm that we do not permit the use of Apeel (or any derivative) on fruits and vegetables sourced for our Trader Joe's stores, and we currently have no plans to do so.”
Whole Foods doesn’t seem to have an easy way to ask these kinds of questions online, but if I can get an answer from them, I will post about it here.

Thank you for including the other names under the Apeel label. I had no idea there were more.
I am very grateful to you for making that inquiry! Thank you!
